Important VTLA Convention Update

Thank you for your patience while we worked through a number of logistical issues today. After a lot of careful deliberation, we ultimately concluded that having everyone together at The Greenbrier in two weeks was simply not feasible under the current circumstances. However, given the extraordinary program of topics and speakers lined up for Convention this year, we simply were not willing to give up and just cancel outright.

Over the last 24 hours we have been able to pull together the resources necessary to hold the first fully virtual convention of any statewide bar association in the state. So the Convention will go on(line)!

Our hearts are heavy that we will no longer hold an in-person event in 2020 at The Greenbrier (or anywhere else for that matter) and we will all miss seeing each other, but we are very excited to still be able to bring you all of the Convention’s outstanding CLE speakers and content. Plus, we are contracting with a company that has the know-how to make this all happen – including the ability to provide for interactive presentations and not just two straight days of listening.

The online Convention will take place on Thursday and Friday, March 26 and 27. We will send you information in the next week or so with all the information you will need to join in the fun. You have already blocked time for the Convention, so we look forward to “seeing” you online!

Each year, many of you get your CLE credits for the year with this event, and you will again. We are committed to that.

If you were not registered for the Convention, but now can attend because you will have no room and board expenses, and no weekend commitment, sign up! We'd love to have you.

In our last email, we mentioned that the Convention is an important part of the life of VTLA and this year will be no different - you will be part of an exciting chapter in VTLA history! The financial impacts are tremendous but less important than the health and safety of all.

Thank you for your understanding and for being part of VTLA.
